Samantha Garvey is a New York based performer originally from Denver, Colorado. Samantha fell in love with performing when she lived in England when she was eight years old and has been excited to make it her career ever since!
She started her formal training at the renowned Redroofs Theatre School at just 8 years old, where she honed her skills in both acting and musical theatre. Her dedication and passion for the craft have only grown since then. Now a student at NYU Steinhardt, Samantha is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in Musical Theatre and a minor in History. Her education and diverse experiences continue to shape her artistry and understanding of performance, giving her the tools to excel in a competitive industry.
In the Spring of 2025, she will graduate from New York University with a B.M. in Vocal Performance Musical Theatre and a History minor. Throughout her senior year she has been seen performing as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, in the "Celebrating the Genius of Alan Menken" concert. She performed, "Part of Your World” at NYU Skirball alongside Alan Menken and the NYU Broadway Orchestra (dir. Ted Sperling). The summer of 2024, she got to star in a 48 Hour Film titled “brothergirls.” that won Best Picture, Best Ensemble Acting, Best Writing and Audience Choice Awards. At Filmapalooza in Seattle, it was selected to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival to be shown in the “Short Film Corner” Cannes Marché du Film 2025! It is now streaming on Youtube, go check it out! Samantha also produces and directs shows at cabaret venues throughout NYC including, To Life! Celebrating Jewish Composers as well as To Life! Hanukkah Edition at The Green Room 42 in association with After Thought Productions.
She enjoys spending time outdoors, whether solo or with friends, and always has a book in hand. At the moment, she's reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, In Memoriam by Alice Winn, Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain, and Babel by R.F. Kuang. Recently, she finished Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell, James by Percival Everett, The Maiden by Kate Foster, If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio, and The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro.
